Year 1 and 2¬†have been¬†continuing their¬†investigation of open-ended Numeracy problems, currently focusing on division. Today’s problem involved buying one or more chocolate blocks and sharing the squares out. But, as ever, the problem is how many people do you share it between? There were 3 chocolate bars to choose from, having 6, 24 or 30 squares.

How many squares would each person get if you shared one bar between 2 people? What about 4 people? 6 people? What if you were feeling super generous and shared it between 8 people?

What if you bought 2 or more blocks of chocolate?

We encourage families to bring Numeracy into the home by investigating a sharing problem with your child.

Happy sharing,

The Year 1 and 2 team

Welcome back!

Hi 1/2 Parents,

Welcome back into Term 4 and we hope you had a wonderful break.

We have lots to be excited about this term. This week students will be starting their multi-genre projects.

It will be great to have a conversation at home with your children about what topics they would like to choose.

The students artwork have been displayed in the hallways. If you are visiting the school please feel free to come in and have a look. It really does look fantastic.

We hope you have a great start to Term 4.

Thanks! ūüôā

1/2 Team
